Math and Social Emotional Learning
The lesson below is a transdisciplinary lesson which incorporates social emotional learning into a grade one math class.
Learning Objective
1.N3 Demonstrate an understanding of the concept of counting:
- by indicating that the last number stated specifies "how many";
- by showing that every set has a unique "count";
- by using the strategy of counting forward;
- by using equal parts or groups to count the elements of a set.
Activity
Students will practice counting from 1 to 10 by counting smoothie ingredients.
